Australian Running Festival
Congratulations to all CJC members who completed events at the Australian Running Festival in Canberra on April 12 and 13.
A special mention to Michael Pickford who completed the marathon in a cracking time of 2:57:48, placing 20th!
The Sydney Half Marathon
The SMH Half Marathon is coming up on May 18. The bus for this event will depart Bradbury Oval at 5:00am and return by about 11:00am. Cost for the bus will be $25 for members or $35 for non-members, which will include light refreshments. Please let Peta know if you would like a seat on the bus.
Supporters/spectators are welcome to join us for the morning. Often a group of members will travel in on the bus, complete their own run around Hyde Park and be back in time to cheer our members across the finish line. If the 21.1km isn’t to your liking, find someone in the club who would like to pair up with you and compete in the Relay Event!

Are we born to run?
A great talk by Christopher McDougall, the author of the best-selling book Born to Run: A Hidden Tribe, Superathletes, and the Greatest Race the World Has Never Seen.
McDougall discusses why – among all animals in the world – humans are the best at running long distances, and importantly, why we are literally born to run.
